Symptoms of Rosacea and Its Cure

As everyone knows that skin is the largest organ of a human body. When you are afflicted by any skin ailment, the whole body suffers a lot and it becomes quite difficult to undergo such a condition. So, you should always be very careful and keen regarding your skin and its proper care. There are many skin disorders like acne, inflammation, skin rashes and warts etc. Such skin diseases have a cure and they can be controlled easily but the most persistent skin ailment that takes a lot of time to heal is Rosacea.

There can be many reasons of this skin disease like it can be transferred from one person to another unless you make a physical contact with the afflicted person. Saliva of the mouth also plays a vital role to transfer the virus of this skin disease and mainly this virus affects the face. The most common parts of face where the virus of Rosacea attacks are Nose, Cheeks, Mouth and forehead.

You might be thinking about the symptoms of this disease and how it attacks an individual. Well, a virus starts reproducing in human body and it destroys the most crucial amino acids of the human body. In this way the immune system of human body becomes weaker and the disease totally overcomes the whole body by leaving its signs on the face. The age of victims of this persistent ailment lies between 30 – 60 years old people; so, you can say that the virus usually attacks adults. There are many symptoms of this disease like itching on skin, burning and irritation. After Rosacea is being diagnosed, it is highly recommended to take precautionary measures and apply cures for this skin disease.

Symptoms of Rosacea are quite tricky because in initial stages it is quite difficult to recognize it. When the virus attacks the skin in its basic stage, it is quite similar to pimples and sunburn. Thus, thousands of people neglect these symptoms by considering it harmless but once the virus reaches to its final stage it becomes quite difficult to bear the pain and irritation of this disease.

Once the germs of Rosacea totally overcome your immune system the victim starts feeling itchiness, flushing on the affected parts and irritation. To overcome such painful attributes of this disease it is recommended to clean the affected parts smoothly on regular basis, avoid hot and spicy foods, and apply proper creams.

Rosacea Skin Care – How to Control Your Rosacea Flare-Ups

Rosacea is a condition that causes the facial skin to become red and flushed (called a flare-up) and is usually found in fair-skinned adults between the ages of 30 and 50 who have light complexions. Women develop rosacea more often than men, but men more often develop lumpy enlarged noses, a condition called rhinophyma. Rosacea affects an estimated 14 million Americans.

A person with rosacea should remember that any activity that would agitate his liver or blood vessels could worsen the symptoms and increase the likelihood of a redness flare-up. This means that certain sacrifices may have to be made such as refraining from alcohol, smoking, and hot/spicy food. The National Rosacea Society reports that the most common triggers of rosacea are sun exposure, emotional stress, hot or cold weather, wind, alcohol, spicy foods, heavy exercise, hot baths, heated beverages and certain skin care products. Each person has their own body chemistry, so what may trigger a flare-up in one person, may not in another person.

Although there is no exact scientific explanation for rosacea, one theory is that it originates in the liver. When this organ is agitated, it causes rosacea to flare-up and manifest on the facial skin, one of the weakest and thinnest areas of the epidermis. This is why some recommend doing a liver cleanse. Many with rosacea have reported that their condition has improved or even disappeared after doing a liver cleanse.

Since many who have rosacea have also been found to be deficient in B vitamins (which causes weak liver) be sure to take a good multivitamin. Taking an L-Lysine supplement (found in vitamin section) may also help minimize or even eliminate flare-ups because it strengthens the skin which makes it less prone to breaking down. The best external skin care for rosacea is a total system which contains natural ingredients which cleanse your body from the inside out and a natural topical system designed to control the redness. When searching for such a good cleansing system, be sure the product does not contain any harsh ingredients or toners. Of course, always consult with your skin care physician before any significant change in your lifestyle.

Acai Berry Skin Care

When most people hear about all of the amazing things that the acai berry can do for your health and beauty, they have a hard time understanding how this can be possible. There are several reason why this is true. The acai berry has a lot of positive affects on your body and many of these will take place in a way which not only helps your inner health, but your outer beauty as well.

One way in which the acai berry will help you to look good is that it acts as a colon cleanser. It will help you to remove the blockage in your colon that takes place as time goes on. When you remove this blockage you will see several changes take place in your health, as well as your appearance. You will digest your food better and become regular. You will feel less bloated after you eat and not get tired after a meal. When this blockage is removed it causes you to look more beautiful on the outside as well. Your skin will appear healthier, as will your hair. You will also notice that your skin has a beautiful glow about it.

The acai berry also has a lot of antioxidants in it. These antioxidants help to prevent the affects of premature aging. As your body begins to age your skin loses the elasticity that gives it that nice smooth and youthful looking texture. These antioxidants will help you to revere these affects and leave you looking young and beautiful again. Wrinkles are one of the main things that make a person look older, by stopping the wrinkles from coming you can maintain your young appearance. There is no reason to age sooner than you have to.

Another way that the acai berry will help your beauty is to help you shed those few extra pounds. Not only by helping you in the colon cleansing department, which will help get rid of some weight as well. But, it also gives you a lot more energy and helps you to be able to burn more calories as you raise your metabolism. By taking the acai berry you are providing yourself with something that is so good for you that its health benefits will naturally follow through to your outside. If you are trying to become a healthier and more beautiful person then the acai berry can help you to achieve this.

What is an Emulsion in Skin Care?

What Is An Emulsion?

Lotions, liniments, massage oils, creams and compresses are all external preparations such as moisturisers but are also used to treat conditions such as skin problems and rashes, to relieve bruising, aches and pains.

But what is an emulsion and what does it actually mean.

All of these products tend to be water and oil preparations and as a result of the oil content will absorb into the skin.

Making a lotion, cream liniment etc is based on blending the oil and water in the right proportions to make an emulsion. Leave it long enough and it will eventually separate. By adding an emulsifier, this becomes a stable product and will remain bound. The emulsifiers you then select are dependent on which type of emulsion it is.

So What Is The Difference?

An emulsion can be made in two ways: either as a oil in water emulsion or a water in oil. Sound the same don’t they and they do create a similar result.

Explanation

If it is a oil in water emulsion, then the oil is the disperse phase and the water is the continuous phase.

If it is a water in oil emulsion, then the water is the disperse phase and the oil is the continuous phase.

Either type of cream/lotion can separate into it’s components over time even with the emulsifier present and can sometimes be caused by extreme temperatures, the wrong proportion of the disperse component and the addition of other components such as alcohol.

Most people these days are selective of what they put on their skin, so be aware of what type of emulsion it is. Try to find a product that has natural emulsifiers in it and uses natural oils are the base. Your skin will thank you for it.

Acne Skin Care Tips For Winter Time

We all need to follow a slightly different skin care routine in the winter. This especially goes for those of us who live in climates that undergo huge seasonal changes with the summer, fall and winter, such as myself.

The reason for this change is skin care is that those of us in non-temperate climates see large dips in humidity in the winter, as well as the drying force of hot air that comes out of our home’s furnace and adds another drying factor to our skin.

Not to mention, there is the wind factor. The freezing wind can actually “wind burn” your skin, which means that it will dry it out immensely, and can even abrade and irritate the skin’s surface. Although acne vulgaris is largely due to an over production of sebum (oil), excessively drying the skin actually has a counterintuitive effect by further aggravating acne and even bringing on more breakouts, so it is imperative that we protect acne prone skin from the over drying and irritation that often comes with the winter weather change.

There are a few things we can do to protect our skin against the ravages of winter, and they are going to vary per your skin type. For example, you may only need to heed a few of these suggestions if your skin does not tend to be overly dry in the winter, or you may want to give some of these tips a try that you’ve never heard of before if your skin becomes a virtual desert or flakiness and redness every winter.

The first suggestion is to try out a small humidifier in whatever room you spend the most time in, say your bedroom perhaps since you are in there (I hope) for at least eight hours a day. Humidifiers used to be very expensive, but you can find the smaller ones that work in a smaller area nowadays for a very reasonable cost. One tip with humidifiers though is that you have to make absolutely certain that you keep them clean since mold tend to build up in them if you don’t keep them clean.

The humidifier’s purpose is to help add moisture to the air itself, since many times that heat that is pumped out of your home’s vents is extremely drying. Not only can humidifiers help keep your skin moist, but they may also make it easier or you to breathe, making respiration much more pleasant where they are set up.

Another tip is to stay very well hydrated. Try drinking only water, and add a little lemon juice to your water for an extra boost in hydration, as well as the skin clarity benefits of lemon water. Stay away from lots of coffee and other caffeinated beverages, since they only make you expel more water and this definitely trickles down to the skin, making the skin dry, irritated and flaky if it is under hydrated from the inside out. Consider also taking a fish oil supplement at least twice a day. They’re very reasonably priced and help keep the skin smooth, supple, and moisture-retaining.

Another winter tip for acne prone skin is to switch to a more moisturizing cleanser, especially if you are currently using one that is especially made for acne prone skin. Maybe switch to a creamy cleanser instead of a clear one, or if you currently use bar soap as a cleanser, you definitely want to switch to a gentler liquid cleanser, perhaps infused with vitamin c.

You want to make sure you are not washing your face with overly hot water. I know it’s great to take a nice hot shower in the winter, but it really isn’t doing your skin any favors. Hot water dried the skin out, and you may notice that after a long hot shower, your skin feels itchy and tight. Take only a warm shower, and make sure your face is getting warm water only, not hot.

Do not hesitate to use moisturizer, allover the face in the winter. If you do not currently use a moisturizer because you are afraid it will aggravate your acne, this is a big mistake. Not only will your skin look red and dry, but you will also be encouraging your skin to produce MORE sebum because it will automatically try to balance itself again to be well hydrated.
